What Competitive Dancing Means at Pulse

Dancing competitively is a great way for children to learn! Students learn what competitive dancing truly means at Pulse Dance Studio. We promote competitive dancing as a great learning experience not solely on winning top awards; instead, we promote children to do the best they can and to use their talent to the best of their abilities. Our goal is to have dancers be proud of who they are and their talents. We feel we have accomplished a great competition when children get off stage and feel they have done the best they can and are happy about their performance.

  • Students learn how to compete respectfully and always encourage other dancers, on not only their teams, but their competitors as well. It is an opportunity to meet people from different places and make new friends.

  • Students learn the importance of practicing; ultimately working hard for what they desire in not only dance, but also everything they do in life.

  • Students learn constructive criticism in a positive environment; as well as develop courage and confidence just by getting up in front of judges on stage where they may not develop this type of confidence anywhere else.

Pulse Dance Studio offers competitive dance classes to the dancer who is more committed

to learning about the dance world on a higher level.

Please hang them up neatly and keep any accessories in a baggy with the costume - we will be collecting them at the end of the year!

Do not wash or wet the costume - If needed, please use a steamer to straighten out any wrinkles before preforming

Makeup Tutorial

This is the closest to the look we are going for - instead of the gold in the crease, use the light brown, drak brown on the lid and the lightest colour under the brows!

Hair Tutorial

We recommend trying the second method first as it is the cleanest and most practical for all hair lengths, however if it is found to be too difficult, the first method is fine. We also ask that bangs be pulled straight back into the bun and out of the face, not pinned to the side like shown in video.
